March-ing Orders

Did you see this?

When that face popped up in my pinterest feed, I stopped breathing. What, pray tell, is this? Could it be true? Be still my beating heart!

It’s for real, Friends. A building challenge, all about scrap wood. (This month, anyway.) Needless to say, I’m pretty geeked.

Ana White is nothing short of inspiring. I first read about her in a local news article featuring women who build. Something in her story immediately resonated with me. She didn’t go to school for special training, or have a background in building. She learned by doing. And she’s darn good at it. She’s “built” a tribe of fellow builders, men and women alike. If you’re not familiar with Ana, you haven’t lived.

Around this house, we have piles of scrap wood. Mind you, I have plans for most of it. I do. Knowing a challenge has been issued is a great motivator! I gotta get moving! This month is almost gone!

Then today, I see this post on Ana’s site.

Look at those drawers! Swoon. I had planned on building our bed from another plan of hers, but this… this! I may have to reconsider.

The weather here is warming up. My hands are gaining strength, and my health is improving each day. I’m ready to roll up my sleeves. How about you? What has you inspired?
